Youth for Digital Volunteerism in COVID’19

Launched on March 27, 2021

Young Digital Volunteers Programme is an online volunteering platform for adolescents and young people who want to support and contribute to the COVID vaccination campaign, COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB), Communication for social good, and youth engagement initiatives.
This program provides an opportunity to explore and establish partnerships with the government, NGOs, CSOs, and voluntary organizations. Digital Volunteers will also be part of capacity building and mentoring sessions by subject matter experts. The volunteers will be guided on leadership, skilling, and personal & professional growth. Digital volunteering is fast, easy – and most importantly safe in the context of COVID-19. The program aims to nurture volunteerism among adolescents and youths in Gujarat for social good.

Objective
The program targets to provide an opportunity for young people to explore and establish partnerships with the government, NGOs, CSOs, and voluntary organizations. YDVP aims to nurture volunteerism among adolescents and youths in Gujarat for social good. The program provides an opportunity for individuals to contribute towards social impact digitally and also work around the capacity building of the agencies and volunteer groups.

Need COVID-19 has posed numerous challenges for non-profit groups; one of these challenges is to figure out how we meaningfully engage volunteers remotely. An important group of youth and adolescents are looking to give back through volunteering now more than ever, which carries a mutual benefit for youth and society as a whole.
