- 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
One in six people are aged 10-19 years indicating that the young generation dominates much of the global landscape. This age of Adolescence is a unique and formative time characterised by physical, emotional and social changes. This is also a time of great vulnerability and exposure to things such as poverty, abuse, or violence, can make adolescents vulnerable to mental health problems. The past two years have been particularly challenging for our adolescents. Coping with the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic which has led to school closures, online education and strict social distancing protocols, have taken a toll on these young minds. As a society, it is our role to protect adolescents from adversity by promoting socio-emotional learning and psychological well-being, and ensuring access to mental health services, to ensure well-being during adolescence and adulthood.
